I really looked at the tomato plants, this morning. The one plant that's already delivered its first tomatos is definitely slightly different from the two other plants. The first color is showing on their fruit, but it has a streaky appearance, and the tomatos are BIG. And there are fewer of them. In terms of form, they look identical in terms of shape, bud scar, etc. The plants are identical. But the fruits on the red-fruited one are slightly smaller and MUCH more abundant. (They are obviously making up in number what they lack in bulk.) Hmm, maybe I should save seeds from this one.
Not counting the cherry tomato plant, there are now 48 noticable tomatos on the plants. And I expect to have a half-dozen ripe ones by the 4th of July.
