Posset addenda

I served the recently-posted posset recipe to a friend, who said "And I thought 'Beer and milk? Eggnog and beer? I'll just take a sip to be polite and make an excuse...' But this stuff is GOOD!" Needless to say, he not only drained it, he's keeping the recipe in mind, because he says it's like an egg cream but "more yummy." Chuckle. Never underestimate Olde English potables.

As a side note, I also made the traditional version on Sunday. The base turns out a bit more like a slightly cooked custard sauce, which gives it more body, but I find I actually prefer the commercial eggnog version.
