Dancing Thru

Taking care of oneself

For a lot of us, it's not easy to take care of ourselves. We can take care of the entire world, but taking care of ourselves is not a natural action. I've looked at the support crew at Lia's passing, and realized that a lot of us are great at making sacrifices for good cause and letting our own lives slide... I was just as happy to know that I don't have to do anything with regard to the aftermath of Lia's demise, this weekend. I need to run errands, do laundry, clean the catboxes... And maybe post on Live Journal ;-) .

I think I'll also sit and read a little this morning, sipping coffee. Not something I let myself do that often. I try to "hit the dirt running" on weekends. (I've already been sorting laundry, putting away stuff from yesterday's venture to Sutters Fort, and washed my hair.) I need a bit of R&R right now... Especially since the end of the week at work was crazy, too.

It was great connecting with Stephen and Heidi for a while, too. I also needed bonding with their son, who's 20 months old, now. He's a charmer, and I really need some kid energy, right now. Auntie Jane needs to be more of a presence... As Stephen is fond of reminding me. ;-
