Arrrh, matey!

Well, I have to be amused by how much "International Talk Like a Pirate Day" has caught on. Seems good, to me. Of course, these are fantasy pirates. The real ones weren't very nice characters.

I was amused that the latest installment of "Survivor" has a "marooned pirates" theme. I don't even like "Survivor," and I found myself watching it, because the producers seem to have finally stumbled onto a real premise. Throw them overboard, no preparation. Okay, a little local money, but use it wisely! Barter with the locals. I liked the lady who used her gold necklace as trade goods for food and supplies. I also liked the cannon relay, mostly because I've moved cannon through some awful terrain myself. And one guy has an "old age and treachery" streak that's got a piratical appeal.
